Buck Island is a quaint, semi-oceanfront community in Corolla, featuring vacation homes from Twiddy & Co. that range from 5 to 10 bedrooms, all within walking distance to restaurants, shops and local attractions. This gated and beautifully-landscaped community sits right on the ocean and delivers an array of amenities, such as an olympic-size pool, and tennis and basketball courts, providing visitors to Buck Island a charming and convenient beach vacation.
You do have access to the amenities on check-in day! During the season, the community pool will be open from 9:00am – 7:00pm daily. The pool does not have a lifeguard on duty. The pool area includes Olympic-sized pool with lap lanes and wading area, hot tub, lounge chairs, shaded tables, and restrooms. There are two tennis courts also striped for pickleball, a half-court basketball court and a playground that are always available for your enjoyment. Adult supervision is required. The community beach access is located at the east end of Orion’s Way just beyond the Beach Cabana. The lighted beach walkway is available for your enjoyment at any time. Golf carts are no longer allowed for renters in the Buck Island Community.

Do not leave beach items on the oceanfront overnight. They will be removed without notice. Parking at Buck Island is limited. Guests are encouraged to use the garages, carports and driveways that are associated with your rental property. Limited overflow parking is available at the pool parking lot, the beach parking lot and the two gravel lots in Charleston Place. RV and boat parking is prohibited throughout Buck Island. Parking on the street or on the grass is prohibited at all times. Violating these rules may result in towing of the vehicle at the vehicle owners expense. Dogs must be on a leash at all times including on the beach and throughout the development. The community has a number of ponds with small fish and turtles. There is no fishing allowed in the ponds and please only enjoy these ponds (feeding of turtles, etc.) from the public side (the side furthest away from any adjacent houses) of the pond. The nearest side of the adjacent house is private property. No open fires are allowed anywhere in Buck Island or on the beach.

From May 1 to September 30, this community will roll all trash and recycling cans out to the street and roll the receptacles back after the trash is collected. Cans will be rolled out to the curbside by Buck Island on Sunday and Thursday evenings and rolled back in on Monday and Friday mornings. Please do not roll the receptacles to the curb and please do not block the bins. From October 1 to April 30, this community will roll all trash and recycling cans out to the street. Please roll the receptacles back after the trash is collected.
